Jun. 15th, 2021 09:58 pmTheme: Journeys, insight
Bio: A Constellation who values the freedom of the wanderer and the wisdom of the outsider’s perspective. Self-examination brings about inner change, and all that matters are the choices you make and what happens after. If life is a journey, then rarely is travel safe.
Likes: Earnestness, diligence, honesty, achieving something through guile or cunning, perceptiveness, loyalty, a sense of wonder, spite, cruel mercy, taking ownership of your decisions, independent thinking
Dislikes: Not taking responsibility for your actions, lack of empathy, lack of self-awareness, lack of awareness period, self-absorption, self-righteousness, being in denial (especially of unpleasant truths or emotions), senseless violence
Note: None of Sojourner's stigmas have obvious 'tells' when they are being used, and should look to the outsider as though the character has gained a scarily accurate gut instinct/intuition or are just suddenly freakishly good, wuxia martial arts tier at athletics.
★ Yellow Path: The user gains intuitive knowledge of where they are, the quickest path to reach some destination, and how long it will take, so long as they are not specifically obstructed. This includes unfamiliar destinations; the only limitation is whether the user is physically capable of reaching them -- this stigma will not show paths that require feats that the user does not have the means to reliably accomplish. Locations may be vague ("a place where there is food"), specific items ("[character name]'s grimoire"), or a specific living person ("[character name]"). It may not be a category of people ("a member of [team]") or based on a description of a person ("someone with dark hair", "someone who can cook"). It should also be noted that the 'quickest path' is not necessarily the same as the 'safest' or 'least eventful' one.
★ Quicksilver Falcon's Eye: When this stigma is activated, the user gains a supernaturally keen sense for gauging another character's response in social interactions. The user can intuit if someone is being sincere or dishonest in their responses; for example, they can detect if someone is lying or trying to hide something through their interactions, though they will not necessarily know what the truth is without doing detective work of their own. Other examples: if they witness other characters engaged in an argument who seem to disagree, they can tell if the disagreement is genuine or a sham performance. If they make an argument they believe their target will readily accept, but the other party is conflicted, they can sense their hesitation even if they try to hide it.
★ Feather Foot Style: The user is passively granted a perfect sense of balance and supernaturally light steps. They can stand or run on things that are normally too narrow or weak to support them with no chance of falling or breaking through, like balancing on the tip of a tree branch, or running across a guy-wire. This stigma further lets the user dash across fluid and unstable surfaces (e.g. water) as though they were solid, and even pause on them (up to 3 comments) without breaking through. If the user does not pick up momentum again after that limit, they will be subject to the normal laws of gravity and buoyancy. They can also safely run across a caustic or burning surface, though standing on dangerous surfaces will still cause harm.
